General Equipment Requirements*:
A sturdy belt (minimum 1.5 inches wide, double-thick leather, nylon or similar) to be worn on pants with belt loops.
A quality handgun or carbine (as appropriate to the class. Some long gun classes may require both).
Minimum of two magazines per firearm.
Factory loaded or factory re-loaded ammunition in major caliber (for both primary and secondary firearms, as required)
Ammunition requirements will vary by class, generally 150-400 rounds per day. Prices for ammunition can vary based on availability, amount, caliber and manufacturer.
Sighting system for carbines (iron sights at minimum; red dot sights or Low Power Variable Optics (LPVO) are highly recommended). Red dot sights on handguns and shotguns are allowed but optional (except for RDP class).
Shotguns must have a fixed stock and be capable of carrying a minimum of three shells. Tube-fed pump or semi-auto shotguns from reputable manufacturers are acceptable (ex: Remington, Mossberg, Beretta). It is strongly recommended students do not use box magazine fed shotguns as these are often not reliable.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Eye and ear protection, billed hat (knee pads and gloves optional).
Clothes appropriate for training in expected weather conditions, including close-toed shoes or boots
A quality holster for handguns (kydex or leather); appropriate sling for long guns
Belt-mounted magazine and shell pouches as appropriate (minimum of one per firearm carried)
Food, water and snacks
Small handheld flashlight (Surefire, O-light, Streamlight or similar are recommended)
Sunscreen and bug repellant, note-taking material, and camera if desired.
